Metro Snow and Ice Management
If you live in the Metro area, you know that snow and ice can be a big issue. With so many roads out of commission, you might be able to get around if you aren't stuck in the cold, but the problem is that you aren't always safe. You need to know how to deal with these situations and make sure you have the right tools and information to ensure you can drive.
It's a mess
If you are in Metro Detroit this year, you might have been left in the dark about your snow and ice removal. Thousands of customers have been affected because the company was in financial trouble. In the summer of 2019, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy confirmed that the company had begun bankruptcy procedures. However, they were still operating at other locations in the city.
So, what should you do if you are stuck with a snow and ice removal service that doesn't work? It's not hard to find a replacement. All you have to do is search online, and you'll likely come up with several companies offering similar services. However, you should remember that not all companies are created equal. Aside from the cost, you should also consider the turnaround time and diversity of their products or services.
For example, one alternative to the services provided by Metro Snow and Ice Management is Appleseed. This company has been providing snow and ice removal for several years. And, they have been a longtime member of the Snow and Ice Management Association, a national trade association representing snow and ice removal professionals. You can find their website at sandice.org.
They don't do their job
The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy has ruled that Metro Snow & Ice Management filed for bankruptcy in the summer of 2019. Apparently the company kept taking money and filing bankruptcy in the same year. It also turns out that they did not do their job well, i.e. clearing the snow. This is the main reason why I would not recommend them as your local snow removal company.
They sent out emails about a week after they had received the contract for the next year's work, which included a snow removal schedule. Besides that, nothing else.
On the other hand, the best snow management companies will be out there promoting themselves by making sure that the city and the customer are protected. They will be on top of the latest information and trends, and will be prepared to act upon them if and when they are necessary. For example, the city may be preparing for a major storm, and the crews will have to react accordingly.
They're in trouble
This past year, the management at Metro Snow & Ice Management was not the best. They left many customers with no snow removal service. It was horrible! And this was not the first time.
The owner of the company was a ******. In July, Metro Snow and Ice went into default on a 60-month repayment proposal. Despite this, the company continued to take money for the 2019-2020 season. Unfortunately, it did not do the job. There were thousands of customers who were left without service.
The owners of Metro Snow and Ice Management want to buy out all other snow removal companies. But they need to get their finances under control. So, they are in the process of filing for bankruptcy. The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy has confirmed that they are doing so.
As of now, Metro Snow and Ice Management continues to operate in other parts of the city. Their goal is to expand their company and take over all other snow removal companies. But, it is a hard decision to make, and it will be hard to tell if they can make it.
